The University of Alabama

VISUAL IDENTITY GUIDE

Colors

At last, all parts of the University—academic, administrative, alumni, and athletic—have agreed on one crimson: Pantone Matching System (PMS) 201. In all stationery applications and whenever you choose to use a crimson or red, PMS 201 is the one to use. PMS 201 with PMS Warm Gray 9 is the color combination of choice for all two-color University wordmarks. A color palette for publications using colors of the same strength of tone as PMS 201 is recommended for further enhancement of the University's graphic identity. To discuss optimal color usage, call the Office of Marketing Communications at 348-5767.

Whenever a red or crimson is used, it must be PMS 201 or one of the following equivalents:

  • RGB: r = 177, g = 0, b = 33
  • CMYK: C = 0, M = 100, Y = 63, K = 29

For a second accent color, use PMS Warm Grey 9 or one of the following equivalents:

  • RGB: r = 134, g = 120, b = 102
  • CMYK: C = 0, M = 11, Y = 20, K = 47
